BlockHeads started as simple woodcarvings. They have evolved over time and have transcended through every new medium and will continue to do so.
BlockHead exists in upstate NY and is a ceramicist, wood carver, stone carver, and graffiti artist. Most of all a BlockHead is a blockhead of epic proportions.
BlockHead draws inspiration from many sources. They love the music of Tom Waits, Nick Cave, David Byrne, Bob Dylan and Steely Dan. Major sources of inspiration include ceramics of Ah Leon, Paveen Beer, and Mitchell Grafton, the Illustrations of Alfred Kubin, and Alberto Martini, and H.R. Geiger, as well as the films of George Miller. They enjoy Rust, detritus, biological flotsam & Jetsam, and spending time hunched over in the workshop.

Every Artist needs a workshop pal and BlockHead is no exception! They share the studio with several critters that come and go as they please. Pictured here is BooBoo, who enjoys coming into the workshop and chewing holes into once airtight bags of clay.
